Base Manager

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the Shipcare Divisions operational activities in Sipitang, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of marine support services, including vessel lay-up, tank cleaning and afloat maintenance. This role also supports business development efforts and ensures full compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Plan, coordinate and oversee daily Shipcare operations at BFOB, Sipitang, Sabah.

Manage project execution including vessel lay-up, afloat repairs and marine service delivery.

Ensure compliance with company policies, QHSE standards and port authority regulations.

Engage with clients to understand requirements, issue job estimates and manage service delivery.

Liaise with HQ, authorities, and third parties for permits, logistics, and coordination.

Monitor asset and manpower readiness, initiate resource planning when project mobilization is confirmed.

Prepare regular operational and incident reports for management.

Supervise site housekeeping, emergency preparedness and safety drills.

Develop SOPs and inspection protocols for operations.

Support marketing and business proposals to secure initial clients.

Lead coordination with subcontractors, vendors and technical support teams.

Perform risk assessments and corrective actions to ensure zero operational disruptions.

(a) Educational/Professional Qualification

Bachelor&aposs Degree in Marine Operations, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

(b) Relevant Experience

Minimum 810 years in marine operations, logistics, including managerial roles.
