Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a high-volume financial environment
- Full-cycle bookkeeping experience preferred but not required
- Strong accounts payable or accounts receivable experience, supported by solid accounting fundamentals and a willingness to develop broader bookkeeping capabilities
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, debits, credits, and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using accounting or bookkeeping software
- Hospitality industry experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies and non-standard situations through resolution without step-by-step guidance
Software and Systems
- Experience using accounting or bookkeeping platforms such as Xero or similar systems
- Familiarity with Procure Wizard for supplier invoice processing considered an advantage

Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and reconcile financial ledgers.
- Maintain accounts receivable records and prepare and issue sales invoices as required.
- Process supplier invoices, manage accounts payable, and prepare weekly supplier payment runs.
- Complete weekly bank reconciliations using the client's accounting system and post journals for daily transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including debtor, cash, and card accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies, exceptions, and non-standard transactions and take ownership of their resolution.
- Post payroll journals accurately and promptly.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and post relevant journals.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders while independently managing assigned responsibilities.
- Perform other ad hoc bookkeeping and accounting duties as required.
