Job Description
SLocation: Remote, Malaysia (KL preferred)
Reports to: Founder & CEO & Marketing Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Remuneration: Dependent on experience
THE ROLE
Sachi Skin is a founder-led clinical skincare brand rooted in Ayurvedic heritage, where ancient wisdom meets modern cosmetic science.
We are looking for an exceptional writer, researcher and natural storyteller to join our content team.
At Sachi Skin, the founder's voice has naturally become the voice of the brand: intelligent, warm, curious, educational, direct and deeply informed by skincare science, formulation, culture and more than 20 years in beauty. A major part of this role is learning that voice.
You should be able to study existing founder writing, interviews, emails, captions and scripts, understand the nuances of how Farah communicates, and gradually become able to write in and accurately mimic the Founder/Sachi Skin voice across different channels.
This is not simply a role for someone who can write grammatically correct copy. We want someone with a journalistic mind who is curious, researches deeply and knows how to find an interesting angle.
That could mean finding a new scientific paper on skin ageing, investigating the story behind an Ayurvedic ingredient, spotting a conversation around pigmentation, or turning a formulation decision into a compelling story.
You then help translate those ideas into content people want to read, watch and share.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
Founder & Brand Voice
Your most important responsibility will be learning and applying the Sachi Skin voice.
You will write and support copy across:
- Instagram and TikTok
- Reels and founder scripts
- Email and Klaviyo
- Campaigns and launches
- Website and PDPs
- Paid advertising
- Sachi Papers editorial
- Creator briefs
- Selected PR and partnership materials
You will work closely with the Founder initially, learning through feedback until you can confidently produce first drafts that require minimal rewriting.
The goal is not to create your own writing style. It is to become exceptionally good at understanding how Sachi Skin speaks and why.
Editorial Research & Story Finding
Research will be an important part of the role.
You will explore topics including:
- Skincare science and clinical research
- Hyperpiigmentation and melanin-rich skin
- Skin ageing and hormonal change
- Ingredients and formulation
- Ayurveda and botanical traditions
- Beauty, wellness and culture
- Relevant industry and consumer conversations
We want someone who notices interesting stories rather than always waiting to be given them.
Someone who can say:
I found something interesting. I think there is a Sachi Skin story here.
We need to talk about this because it's relevant and trending for our US/UK customers
Campaign & Content Copy
Working from our Brand & Campaign Calendar, you will help turn campaign themes into:
- Hooks and headlines
- Social posts and carousels
- Reel and TikTok scripts
- Founder content
- Email stories
- Educational content
- Product stories
- Promotional messaging
You will work alongside the wider marketing, social and design team rather than being responsible for running every campaign yourself.
Social & Short-Form Writing
You should understand how people consume content on Instagram and TikTok.
We need someone who can take a complicated skincare subject and find the one sentence that makes someone stop scrolling.
You will help develop hooks, scripts, captions, educational carousels, founder POVs and product stories for our social content team.
You do not need to be the primary video creator or editor. Your strength should be the idea, story and words behind the content.
Long-Form & Editorial
You will also support longer-form writing including:
- Sachi Papers articles
- Founder thought leadership
- Skincare education
- Ingredient stories
- Science-led editorial
- SEO-informed content
- Selected press releases
We want thoughtful writing with a point of view, not generic beauty content.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You are:
- An exceptional English-language writer
- Someone instinctive- looks for the story behind the story
- Able to study and closely replicate an established brand/founder voice
- Naturally curious and research-driven
- Strong at headlines, hooks and storytelling
- Able to simplify complex information without losing its meaning
- Comfortable moving between short-form and long-form writing
- Interested in skincare, science, beauty, wellness and culture
- Fast, organised and comfortable working to deadlines
- Open to detailed editorial feedback and rewriting
- Commercially aware, great copy should make someone care, click or buy
- Someone who spots stories and ideas rather than simply waiting for instructions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
We are particularly interested in candidates with a degree or strong background in:
Journalism, Mass Communications, Media & Communications, English or Creative Writing.
Beauty or skincare experience is valuable, but exceptional writing ability, intellectual curiosity and editorial judgement matter more.
Please include a portfolio with examples of your strongest writing, such as:
- Journalism or editorial articles
- Social copy
- Headlines and hooks
- Scripts
- Brand/commercial writing
- Long-form articles
- Substack or personal writing
YOUR FIRST WEEKS
Your first week will be Reading & Immersion Week.
You will study Sachi Skin's founder writing, website, campaigns, captions, emails, interviews, product materials and existing editorial.
You will begin documenting:
- Founder and Sachi Skin tone of voice
- Sentence style and language
- Brand vocabulary
- How we explain science
- How we speak to our community
- What sounds like Sachi Skin, and what does not
You will then immerse yourself in our core products, understanding why each exists, what it does, its formulation story, evidence and role within a customer's routine.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within your first three months:
- Your writing increasingly sounds authentically like Sachi Skin
- Founder drafts require significantly less rewriting
- Campaigns have stronger hooks and stories
- Social content becomes more distinctive and interesting
- Emails and website copy become stronger
- Sachi Papers develops a clearer editorial voice
- You regularly bring new research, stories and content ideas to the team

Brand Editorial & Content Executive > Senior Brand Content Editor > Brand Editorial & Content Lead > Head of Editorial & Content
Please can you ensure you submit the below assignment with your resume, applications without the assignment will not be able to progress to the interview stage.
