Role
The Brand Manager will lead end-to-end brand building and go-to-market execution for OTC and wellness brands in Malaysia. This role combines strategic brand development with hands-on execution, driving growth across channels while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build a new Consumer Healthcare business.
Responsibilities
1) Brand Launch & Portfolio Development
- Lead end-to-end go-to-market (GTM) planning for new OTC and wellness brands, including brand positioning, claims, packaging, pricing, and launch execution tailored to the Malaysian market.
- Own brand P&L and ensure strong execution across all consumer touchpoints.
2) Marketing & Growth Execution
- Develop and execute integrated omnichannel marketing plans across pharmacy, e-commerce, social/digital, and medical channels.
- Manage creative, media, and digital agencies to deliver cohesive campaigns and track performance metrics to optimize ROI.
3) Commercial & Category Leadership
- Drive brand growth through strong demand planning, A&P management, distribution support, and post-launch performance reviews.
- Monitor consumer, category, and competitor trends to identify innovation and growth opportunities while balancing brand equity with commercial impact.
4) Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with regulatory, supply chain, quality, finance, and medical teams to ensure compliant and timely product launches.
- Lead project alignment meetings and clearly communicate brand priorities and timelines across functions.
5) Business Building & Entrepreneurial Leadership
- Act as a core member of the Consumer Healthcare founding team, helping to establish brand processes, agency partnerships, internal workflows, and marketing playbooks.
- Be agile, resourceful, and outcome-driven, with the ability to mentor new team members as the organization grows.
6) Capability & Knowledge Building
- Support the development of consumer healthcare marketing capabilities within the organization by sharing best practices, building launch excellence frameworks, and contributing to knowledge transfer across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
- Formal training in digital marketing, brand management, or analytics is an advantage.
- 5 - 8 years of relevant marketing experience.
- Consumer Healthcare, OTC, FMCG, Wellness, or related consumer-driven industries.
- Expertise in brand management, new product launches, integrated marketing campaigns, agency management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in early-stage business units, new category launches, or turnaround brands.
- Exposure to regulated consumer categories (OTC, supplements, medical-adjacent products).
- P&L ownership, e-commerce/omnichannel marketing, pharmacy engagement.
- Experience in regional or multinational organizations.
