Job Summary
Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing solutions that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties
Business Partnership
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
- Responsible for demand management and prioritization of projects and demands together with business based on business case and objectives.
- Support and align efforts to meet business needs against Technology delivery team's capacities/capabilities.
- Manage relationships with business and expectations by developing a communication process to keep stakeholders up to date on status of project/demand.
Business Solution
- Collaborate closely with Technology Teams to develop a fit for purpose solution in achieving business demand and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
- Maintain clear and complete knowledge on company business architecture and procedures.
- Stay abreast with business trends and technologies.
- Plan and coordinate workshops (discovery, scoping, solutioning, etc.) with participation from business units, technical delivery teams and vendors to conclude the right solution.
- Determine high level resource requirements and identify resources with appropriate skill sets to complete the project.
- Preparation of Solution Pack with the end-to-end proposed solution to address the user demand.
Business Analyst
- Completely and accurately capture the business requirements especially the processing and operation needs when preparing Business Requirement Specifications (BRS).
- Challenge and / or propose improvement to the process or requirements during the Requirement Gathering exercise. Ensure the users are agreeable to the proposal.
- Ensure that the Functional Specification received from Delivery teams have fully delivered and address all the requirement items in Business Requirement Specification.
- Prepare the Requirement Traceability matrix.
Qualifications & Skills
- University graduate, preferable in Business / IT / related disciplines
- 10 + years proven experience in business requirement gathering, user acceptance testing and user management,
- The incumbent must have around 3+ years working experience involved with supporting or working in insurance industry with the focus on digital initiatives
- Strong understanding of insurance products, processes, regulations and industry best practice
- Candidates with exposure in UI/UX design, digital channel optimisation, omni-channel integration, digital marketing integration experience will be an additional advantage.
- Candidate with consultancy background with experience in business analysis, leading solution/application development will be an additional advantage
Role-specific Requirements
- Knowledge on Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and Visio, and Project.
- Certification in business analysis or related fields (e.g. IIBA, PMI-PBA) will be an added advantage
