JOB SUMMARY
As a Business Analyst Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the execution of business analysis activities across multiple projects. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality requirements, supporting project delivery, guiding a team of business analysts, and acting as the central liaison between business units and technical teams. This role focuses on delivery management, process improvement, and ensuring solutions meet business objectives, while supporting the broader strategy defined by the Section Head.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Supervise and mentor business analysts in day-to-day project delivery, including requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor business analysis activities across assigned projects to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Engage with business units to validate needs, refine requirements, and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Review and ensure completeness of functional specifications and business process documentation.
- Work closely with Development, Quality Assurance, Business Users and Project Management teams to resolve requirement gaps, clarify design decisions, and support testing activities.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, walkthrough sessions, and impact assessment discussions with relevant stakeholders.
- Support user readiness efforts including training coordination, user guides, Business Analysis acceptance checks, and operational handover.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Ensure compliance with SDLC standards, documentation templates, and Business Analysis delivery practices set by the Section Head.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or any related background which is recognized by the Malaysian Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in business analysis preferably in financial services or organization.
- Professional certifications in any Business Analyst domain such as CBAP, CPRE, PMI-PBA are an advantage.
- Experience and business & technical knowledge of core banking systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office and project collaboration tools.
- Malaysian citizen.
- Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Experience with Banking/Financial systems including modules for deposits, lending, payments, trade finance, and treasury management.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, or RPG.
- Understanding of API integration and web services.
- Knowledge of data modeling and data analysis tools.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Proficiency in system analysis and design methodologies.
Business Analyst Competencies
- Requirements Elicitation: Skilled in gathering and documenting business requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
- Process Modeling: Proficient in creating process models and workflows to visualize business processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Data Analysis: Expertise in analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
- Solution Assessment: Capable of evaluating and recommending solutions that align with business objectives.
- Change Management: Experience in managing change and ensuring smooth transitions during project implementations.
