Business Development Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Assistant to join our Asia team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will support the execution of business development initiatives across the region, including market research, data analysis, and coordination of business development operations.

You will work closely with Business Development colleagues across Asia and collaborate with Practice Group Leaders, Principals, attorneys, and the Marketing team across Asia-Pacific to support the firm's growth initiatives.

This position is suited for candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience who are looking to deepen their experience within a professional services environment. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is motivated to build a career in business development. You will have the opportunity to strengthen the firm's market position, contribute to new business opportunities, and support the development of client relationships.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Support the development of client-facing materials, including capability statements, proposals, presentations, and responses to RfPs and government tenders.
• Coordinate and support the execution of international conferences, client visits, and related events.
• Conduct market, client, and competitor research to support new business opportunities and strategic planning.
• Monitor industry data and trends to provide insights that inform business development strategies.
• Maintain and update business development tools, including CRM systems, marketing databases, and reporting templates.
• Support internal reporting, including tracking KPIs for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business development colleagues across the Asia-Pacific region to support cross-border initiatives.
• Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Asia Business Development team.
• Provide timely updates for production status and progress of issue resolution.
• Ensuring all internal processes and procedures are adhered to.

Knowledge and Experience

• Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in business development, marketing, or a related role, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong written and spoken English skills; proficiency in Mandarin will be highly valued.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with strong time management skills.
