Business Development Manager

Halim Hong & Quek (HHQ) is a leading Malaysian law firm with a strong regional outlook. We operate across Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang, and work closely with international clients, investors, and partners across multiple jurisdictions.

Business Development Manager

The Role:

This is not a traditional BD role. You will work directly with partners to shape how the firm:

• identifies and wins work
• builds client relationships
• positions its practices in the market
• executes campaigns, content, and strategic initiatives

You will be expected to think, challenge, and execute.

What We're Looking For:

• 4+ years in BD/marketing (professional services preferred)
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Structured thinker with commercial awareness
• Able to operate independently and take ownership
• Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders
• Someone who is curious, proactive, and willing to try new ideas

What You'll Be Doing:

• Drive client and practice-level BD strategies
• Work closely with partners on targeting, pitching, and client engagement
• Lead campaigns across content, events, and digital platforms
• Build and manage client pipelines and opportunities
• Develop thought leadership initiatives and market positioning
• Track market trends, competitors, and opportunities
• Improve internal BD systems, reporting, and processes
