We're Hiring: Business Development Manager – APAC (Data Centre Solutions)

Location: Johor Bahru (preferred) or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Industry: Load Bank Rental | Data Centre Solutions

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and build strong relationships across the Malaysian and APAC data centre markets. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, self-driven professional to manage the full commercial cycle—from identifying leads to closing contracts—while expanding and nurturing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a high-quality network of clients, including data centre operators, main contractors, commissioning agents, MEP consultants, and engineering firms.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, events, and direct outreach.
  • Manage end-to-end sales: lead qualification, technical briefings, proposal preparation, pricing, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts to maximize recurring revenue.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for channel partners and coordinate joint go-to-market activities.
  • Communicate technical value propositions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Track market trends, tender opportunities, and competitor activity; provide insights to senior management.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and networking events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in B2B sales or business development with proven revenue results.
  • Experience with data centre operators, contractors, commissioning agents, or MEP firms.
  • Strong prospecting, lead qualification, and closing skills in long-cycle B2B sales.
  • Knowledge of data centre commissioning processes (L3/L4/L5 system testing, load bank requirements) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: RM8,000 – RM10,000 (depending on experience) + performance bonus
  • Frequent travel across Malaysia and within APAC (Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam)
  • Valid driving licence (Category D/DA) and passport required
  • CIDB Green Card or equivalent site access certification is advantageous
  • Mobile phone and travel allowances provided
