The Business Development Manager (BDM) drives growth for Lysaght Malaysia by identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and expanding the company's market presence. This role requires strong strategic thinking, deep market insight, and the ability to execute business development strategies aligned with national and regional objectives. Working closely with sales, marketing, operations, and project delivery teams, the BDM ensures customer satisfaction, business alignment, and supports project development and execution to meet client and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth Strategy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Malaysia and surrounding markets.
- Develop and execute BD strategies to meet revenue and market share targets.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor benchmarking to inform strategic decisions.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison for major clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular client engagements to uncover new opportunities.
Project Involvement
- Support project teams with market insights and commercial alignment.
- Ensure project deliverables meet both client and business expectations.
- Participate in project reviews to provide strategic and commercial input.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Marketing and Innovation teams to align BD initiatives with marketing campaigns and innovation goals.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to align BD strategies with overall sales objectives.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Finance teams to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- 57 years of BD or sales experience, preferably in construction or building materials.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities, analyse market trends, and drive growth strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Solid analytical skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration and project support.
