The Business Development team is a centralized business development function responsible for initiating, developing, and executing the group's most intricate, impactful, and forward-thinking partnerships. The team is dedicated to fostering mutually beneficial collaborations with global corporate partners, aiming to enhance their business offerings and positively influence customer lives.

Get to Know the Role

In this position, you will play a vital role within the group business development team to execute strategic partnerships for the assigned portfolio(s). You will be a crucial leader on the ground, managing internal and external relationships and projects which may be non-standard in nature, and/or have unique or broader implications to various cross-functional business verticals and product teams. You will wear multiple hats to deliver core initiatives tailored to local market needs, supporting country growth, and prioritizing their objectives.

Ideal candidates have a blend of critical and strategic thinking, project management, and precise execution with strong cross-functional skills to run programs across a diverse set of businesses. You will report to the Head of Strategic Partnerships.

This is a fully onsite role based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will support a high-performing team culture to drive projects and deals end-to-end from commercial negotiation to closure, ensuring timely and precise execution, delivering the desired objectives of the assigned portfolio(s).
• You will develop an understanding of each markets needs and priorities, translating these into applicable insights and thoughtful analysis to create meaningful levers to strengthen strategic partnerships.
• You will communicate the upstream strategies and value propositions to cross-functional business verticals and product teams, and bridge communications with external global stakeholders to bring the strategic partnerships plans to life.
• You will deliver regular & high-quality business reviews to management, outlining progress, challenges, and next steps.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in strategic partnerships, global strategy, or business intelligence.
• You are comfortable with blending business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts to facilitate and execute complex, multi-faceted deals.
• You have exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills, enabling you to handle multiple complex projects with precision.
• You have strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate & influence others internally and externally in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• You are a curious & adaptable self-starter who demonstrates grit and excels in technically demanding, fast-paced, and innovative environments.
• You are familiar with leveraging AI technologies to enhance productivity and comfortable exploring and applying emerging AI technologies to optimize workflows and drive innovation.
• You earn trust and have the ability to work independently with ambiguity.
