Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Specialist based in Penang, Malaysia. The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for conducting market research to identify potential business opportunities, generating leads, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing excellent customer service. The role will also involve analyzing market trends and data to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth.

- Excellent Communication skills for engaging with clients and team members.
- Experience in Lead Generation and Market Research.
- Customer Service skills to build lasting relationships with clients and ensure satisfaction.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and government sectors
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Expand client portfolio and penetrate new markets
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and tender briefings
- Understand client operational needs (cleaning, M&E, security, landscaping, waste management, etc.)
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
- Source and monitor new tender opportunities (government & private)
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service scope
- Finalize agreements and ensure proper documentation
- Propose cost-effective and value-added solutions
- Ensure smooth handover after contract award
- Monitor service performance during initial contract stage
- Work closely with site supervisors and managers to meet KPIs
- Prepare monthly business development reports
- Monitor contract profitability and renewal opportunities
- Identify strategic partnerships
- Explore new service lines (smart FM, IoT monitoring, sustainability solutions)
- Support company branding and marketing initiatives
