Job Description

The KPI Institute is a research institute specialised in business performance. It operates research

programs in 12 practice domains, ranging from strategy and KPIs to employee performance, and

publications, subscriptions services, and through a knowledge platform available to registered

members. Support in deploying these insights in practice is offered through training and advisory

research and education. It developed the first KPI Management Framework and operates

www.smartkpis.com, the result of the research program dedicated to documenting and

cataloguing how KPIs are used in practice, an online portal containing the largest collection of

documented KPI examples.

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth, customer

satisfaction, and client loyalty by building strong and strategic relationships within the Southeast

Asia market. This role plays a key part in expanding market presence, executing sales

campaigns, and supporting business growth initiatives.

Your main responsibilities include:

Sales & Business Development

Research and identify new prospects and evaluate conversion opportunities.

Initiate and maintain proactive engagement with clients and prospects via phone, email,

meetings, and LinkedIn.

Identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions to secure business.

Propose and implement sales campaigns aligned with regional strategies.

Maintain accurate and timely records of all sales activities in the CRM system

Proposal & Negotiation Management

Assess customer training requirements and build suitable technical and financial proposals.

Lead proposal negotiations until successful closure.

Ensure proposal quality and compliance with internal guidelines and standards.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

Support participant registration processes and invoicing requirements for Open Courses.

Manage a portfolio of prospects to sustain a healthy pipeline and drive participant

acquisition.

Monitor invoice payment status and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely

collection.

Team Support & Leadership

Provide coaching and support to newly onboarded employees.

Delegate routine tasks across the team in the absence of the Business Development Team

Manager.

Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure alignment on business goals and execution of

tasks.

Brand Representation & Marketing Support

Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and client meetings to promote

offerings.

Support planning and execution of marketing and networking initiatives to enhance brand

visibility.

Engage online communities and execute digital promotional activities on social platforms.

Research and suggest new digital marketing tools and strategies to enhance outreach.

We expect you to:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 23 years of experience in a similar business development or sales role.

Experience working in the training, corporate learning, or consulting industry is a plus.

Proven sales track record.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Advanced knowledge of CRM systems and digital sales tools.

Comfortable working with social media platforms such as LinkedIn.

Highly customer-centric and committed to delivering outstanding service.

Proactive, results-driven, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.

Adaptable to evolving market demands and able to navigate challenges with

professionalism.

Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to support others.

Flexible scheduling and availability during business-critical timelines.
