Business Intelligence Data Analyst - Alipay+

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Business Intelligence Analyst to join us in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving data-driven decision making for our cross-border payment solutions, serving billions of mobile users across global markets. You will leverage advanced analytics, AI capabilities, and business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights that directly impact our business strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities

KPI Management & Performance Tracking

Develop and maintain comprehensive KPIs and metrics frameworks to measure business performance across Alipay+ operations

Establish data governance standards and ensure data quality and accuracy for business reporting

Monitor key business objectives and provide regular performance analysis to leadership teams

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business goals and success metrics

Data Analysis & Insights Generation

Conduct deep-dive analysis on transactional data, user behavior, and market trends across cross-border payment ecosystems

Utilize statistical methods and data mining techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and opportunities for business optimization

Analyze payment success rates, user adoption metrics, and market penetration across different regions

Provide data-driven recommendations to improve user experience, merchant satisfaction, and operational efficiency

Dashboard Development & Data Visualization

Design, develop, and maintain interactive business intelligence dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms

Create automated reporting systems that provide real-time visibility into key business metrics

Implement data visualization best practices to communicate complex insights effectively to diverse stakeholders

Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, scalable, and aligned with business needs

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

Conduct market research and competitive analysis in the cross-border payment industry

Monitor emerging trends in digital payments, mobile wallets, and financial technology

Analyze competitor strategies and provide insights to inform Alipay+ business development

Track regulatory changes and market dynamics across different regions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define data requirements

Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and research plans

Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Act as a bridge between business units and technical teams to ensure data alignment

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related quantitative fields

Additional certifications in Data Science, Business Intelligence, or related areas are a plus

3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related roles

Preferred background

Management consulting firms with focus on technology or financial services

Technology companies in data and business support functions

Financial services or fintech companies

Experience in cross-border payments, digital wallets, or financial technology is highly desirable

Technical Skills

Proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and manipulation

Strong experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.) for dashboard development

Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas

Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes

Basic programming knowledge in Python or R for data analysis

AI/ML Competencies (Preferred)

Basic understanding of AI applications in business intelligence

Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques
