A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Buyer at MKS, you will partner with cross functional teams to the continuous flow of material in order to meet production requirements, with right cost, quality, quantity and at the right time from the right source, following the internal procedures of the company. In this role, you will report to the Procurement Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- PO creation and management/ Process optimization.
- Drive negotiations for pricing and payment terms and propose cost-saving initiatives aligned with company objectives.
- Serve as the focal point for supplier escalations and support monthly business reviews with strategic/preferred suppliers, including delivery, quality, invoice/payment and other operational issues.
- Manage and drive vendor performance in alignment with Global Category Management strategies by evaluating supplier performance and supporting supplier audits.
- Maintain supplier master data in ERP systems. (pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, addresses, contacts, etc.)
- Proactively follow up on supplier commitments and ETA updates to ensure timely material and service delivery.
- Monitor and drive improvements in On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and Past Due Purchase Orders (POs) to support operational continuity and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve supply, delivery, and service-related issues in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify and automate routine procurement processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Travel to suppliers and other MKS facilities as needed.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or Planning.
- At least 3 years of indirect procurement experience, including sourcing and supplier management for Calibration Services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), Jigs & Fixtures, Facilities Services and other indirect spend categories.
- Demonstrated experience with purchasing and supply chain tools.
- Good interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Highly meticulous, detail-oriented, and committed to performing due diligence in procurement activities and supplier management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance day-to-day operational execution while identifying long-term improvement opportunities.
- Self-driven, proactive and capable of influencing positive change across cross-functional teams and supplier networks.
- A willingness and ability to influence and drive change.
