Role: Capital Market - Confirmations.

Location: Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end confirmation's function covering outbound drafting and inbound validation/matching across FX, Money Markets, and Derivatives.
  • Ensure confirmations are drafted, issued, validated, and matched within agreed SLAs and regulatory timelines.
  • Drive proactive management of outstanding confirmations through structured follow-ups, prioritisation, and ageing controls.
  • Oversee resolution of breaks, mismatches, and drafting queries, ensuring timely closure.
  • Allocate workload effectively to optimise productivity and capacity utilisation.
  • Provide oversight on high-risk or complex transactions.
  • Drive operational efficiency through standardisation and automation.
  • Strengthen stakeholder engagement across Front Office, Middle Office, and counterparties.
  • Deliver management reporting on ageing, match rates, and issuance performance.
  • Processes
  • Ensure timely drafting, issuance, validation, and matching of confirmations.
  • Maintain structured follow-up mechanisms for outstanding confirmations.
  • Execute escalation protocols for aged or unmatched confirmations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and audit trail across activities.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce manual intervention and errors.

Skills & Experience (Confirmations – FX & Derivatives) :

  • Strong understanding of FX and Derivatives confirmations lifecycle.
  • Experience with Murex and confirmation platforms (SWIFT / e-matching).
  • Ability to manage high-volume, time-critical operations.
  • Strong analytical capability to investigate mismatches and breaks.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • High attention to detail and strong control mindset.
  • Technologically adept, with ability to leverage digital tools, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to enhance efficiency and control.

People & Talent :

  • Build a high-performing, risk-aware team.
  • Maintain capability matrix across product, system, and process expertise.
  • Drive cross-training and skill development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks from unmatched confirmations and manual processes.
  • Ensure controls to minimise discrepancies and settlement failures.
  • Monitor and escalate aged items and control gaps.
  • Maintain compliance with risk frameworks and audit requirements.
  • Support audit engagements with documentation and remediation tracking.

Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to policies, DOI, and control frameworks.
  • Maintain audit readiness with full documentation.
  • Support audits and ensure closure of findings.
  • Provide oversight through reporting and governance reviews.

Regulatory & Business Conduct :

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory timelines and accuracy standards.
  • Embed strong conduct and compliance culture.
  • Identify and manage regulatory and conduct risks.
