Capital Market (Financial Market) - Settlements

Key Responsibilities

• Process and monitor settlements for Financial Markets transactions in accordance with market deadlines and internal procedures.

• Handle payment processing, funding, and cash management activities.

• Validate settlement instructions to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Process payments through SWIFT messaging and Nostro account platforms.

• Perform daily cash, nostro, and trade reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

• Ensure timely settlement of Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Market, and Derivatives transactions.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders, counterparties, custodians, and correspondent banks to resolve settlement-related issues.

• Monitor settlement queues and ensure all transactions are completed within agreed service levels.

• Investigate and resolve payment failures, settlement breaks, and unmatched transactions.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce operational risk.

• Support month-end reporting, audit requests, and operational projects as required.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–8 years of experience in Capital Markets Operations, Financial Markets Operations, or Settlements.

• Hands-on experience in payment processing, funding, settlements, and reconciliations.

• Experience processing payments using SWIFT messaging.

• Good understanding of Nostro account operations and cash management.

• Experience validating settlement instructions and resolving settlement exceptions.

• Knowledge of Financial Markets products, including:

• Foreign Exchange (FX)

• Money Markets

• Derivatives
