Job Title: Cash Equity Product Owner
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Role Summary
As a Cash Equities Product Owner, you will lead the development and delivery of the bank's equities trading platform, focusing on order management, execution, and post-trade integration across multiple brokers and internal systems. You will drive product vision, backlog prioritisation, and stakeholder alignment to enhance client experience, front-office productivity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Product Vision
• Define and drive the product vision for cash equities platforms (pricing, order routing, execution, and booking).
• Lead digital transformation of equities capabilities across Private Banking and Retail segments.
• Deliver a scalable, multi-broker (open architecture) platform supporting price discovery and efficient execution.
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle – from concept to delivery and continuous enhancement.
• Ensure seamless integration with upstream (e.g., client data, eligibility checks) and downstream systems (e.g., trade booking, settlement).
2. Business & Product Delivery
• Identify business pain points across the equities value chain (front office, middle office, operations).
• Translate business needs into clear product requirements and prioritised backlog items.
• Define roadmap aligned to business growth, trading volumes, and product penetration.
• Act as SME for cash equities trading platforms (OMS/EMS), ensuring system scalability and performance.
• Drive innovation in execution workflows, automation, and straight-through processing.
3. Agile Delivery & Execution
• Own and prioritise the product backlog, balancing business value, risk, and technical dependencies.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, and vendors to deliver high-quality releases.
• Review solution design to ensure alignment with business objectives and user experience.
• Lead UAT, sign-offs, and go-live readiness with business stakeholders.
• Ensure continuous feedback loop post-release and track realised benefits.
4. Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary interface between business, technology, vendors, and control functions.
• Align stakeholders across front office (RMs, advisors), trading desks, and operations.
• Communicate product roadmap, progress, and key changes to senior management.
• Manage dependencies with external brokers, market infrastructure, and vendor platforms.
5. Process Optimisation & Controls
• Improve end-to-end trading workflows, reducing manual interventions and operational risks.
• Ensure strong controls embedded across order lifecycle (pre-trade, execution, post-trade).
• Partner with risk, compliance, and surveillance teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Support audit, regulatory requirements, and risk remediation initiatives.
6. Risk, Governance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to market regulations, internal policies, and conduct standards.
• Embed controls for market abuse, trade surveillance, and client suitability.
• Drive robust operational risk management within the trading platform ecosystem.
• Ensure compliance with AML and reporting obligations.
7. People & Collaboration
• Promote a strong performance culture within agile squads.
• Share domain knowledge across teams to build equities product expertise.
• Mentor junior product and business analysts where required.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Technology, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in cash equities / electronic trading platforms
• Strong understanding of OMS/EMS, order routing, and trade lifecycle
• Proven experience in agile delivery and product ownership
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
