Job Description
The Category Management Indirect Specialist is responsible for managing endtoend procurement activities for indirect materials and services across the Asia region. The role involves strategic sourcing, contract and supplier management, price and payment terms negotiation, and ensuring alignment with Vertiv's global procurement objectives.
This position collaborates extensively with regional Market Units, factories, and global category leaders to drive cost optimization, ensure compliance, improve spend visibility, and support operational excellence.
A key responsibility includes preparing and publishing the Monthly Indirect Procurement KPI Report, consolidating data from various sources, performing analytics, and presenting insights that support decisionmaking.
The role requires a
minimum of three years of relevant procurement experience with strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of regional indirect procurement operations.
- Source suppliers and obtain competitive bids for indirect goods and services across Market Units and factories.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contract conditions to achieve cost advantages and favorable payment terms.
- Conduct market research to monitor industry trends, supplier developments, and cost drivers.
- Manage supplier relationships, including onboarding, performance tracking, and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess procurement requirements, manage specifications, and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Analyze indirect procurement spend and develop strategies to increase savings, improve payment terms, and grow spend under contract.
- Support urgent purchase orders, delivery followups, and coordination of critical shipments.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize procurement processes to enhance efficiency and regional standardization.
The Regional Indirect Procurement Specialist Will Lead The Preparation, Consolidation, Validation, And Publication Of Monthly KPI Reports, Including But Not Limited To
- Cost Savings Performance project tracking, validation, and monthly reporting.
- Weighted Average Payment Terms Improvement monthly monitoring vs. yearly targets.
- Spend Under Contract (SUC) consolidation from multiple Market Units and spend systems.
- Spend eSourced reporting on sourcing events executed via Ariba, Coupa, or other eSourcing tools.
- Process & Productivity Improvements tracking regional efficiency gains.
- Trade Compliance Metrics validation of cross-border transactions and vendor compliance.
This Includes
- Consolidating data from ERP (Oracle/SAP), Power BI dashboards, Smartsheet trackers, finance reports, and Market Unit submissions.
- Performing analytical checks and variance explanations.
- Preparing monthly management presentations for the Indirect Regional Procurement Manager and Asia Procurement leadership.
- Ensuring timely submission of KPIs to Global Indirect Procurement for corporate rollups.
Regional and Global Collaboration
- Coordinate with the Global Indirect Procurement Category Teams to implement global initiatives and category strategies.
- Drive Asiawide alignment on procurement processes, compliance, and contract templates.
- Collaborate with Market Units across Asia, ensuring clear communication and consistent execution of procurement activities.
1.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Indirect Regional Procurement Manager.
2.0 INTERACTIONS
- Coordinate with Global Indirect procurement category team to drive Global Indirect initiatives.
- Close coordination with Indirect Vendors, Market Units and factory.
- This position shall also interact with all levels of staff from across Asia Pacific.

3.0 Accountabilities
- Achieve targeted procurement KPIs (Cost Savings, Payment Terms, Spend Under Contract, eSourcing, and Productivity).
- Ensure adherence to trade compliance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely monthly KPIs and dashboards.
- Support regional audits, compliance reviews, and documentation control.
- Ensure proper supplier qualification and risk management.

4.0 Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with ERP software, such as SAP or Oracle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet and Power BI.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
5.0 Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
