Category Manager (Pharmaceutical & Healthcare)

We are looking for a Category Manager to drive the growth and profitability of our product categories. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, optimising product assortment, managing suppliers, improving sales and margins, supporting promotional activities, and ensuring healthy inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out category strategies and annual plans to grow sales, market share and profitability.
• Review and optimise product assortment based on sales performance, customer needs and market trends.
• Manage pricing strategies to stay competitive while protecting margins.
• Plan and support promotional activities and campaigns with marketing and store operations teams, and evaluate their results.
• Build and manage relationships with suppliers, including negotiating trade terms, rebates, promotional support and new product listings.
• Monitor inventory levels with the supply chain team to avoid stockouts and minimise overstock and expiry.
• Analyse sales, margin and market data to identify opportunities and make recommendations.
• Track competitor activity and industry trends to keep the category relevant.
• Ensure products meet relevant regulatory and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmacy retail, pharmaceutical, healthcare, OTC, consumer healthcare, FMCG or retail industry.
• Strong understanding of category management, product assortment, pricing, promotions, supplier management and inventory management.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into commercial decisions.
• Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with sales and inventory reports.
