Overview
We are seeking a Certification & Compliance Executive to ensure that products distributed in Malaysia fully comply with local standards and regulations. This role is essential for managing certification, approvals, and audits with regulatory bodies, enabling the company to market, supply, and import electrical components legally and safely in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the application, renewal, and maintenance of product certifications and approvals from SIRIM, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), JKR, BOMBA, SPAN, etc
- Work closely with HQ to obtain necessary technical documentation (test reports, certificates, catalogues, etc) to submit to relevant authorities.
- Monitor the validity of all certifications and ensure renewals are processed in advance.
- Keep update on Malaysian regulations, technical standards, and certification changes relevant to electrical components
- Communicate any regulatory shifts or new compliance requirements to internal stakeholders and recommend necessary adjustments for product lines.
- Maintain a central compliance database to track certificates, test reports, and regulatory status.
- Assist and support regulatory audits, inspections, and testing of products with relevant bodies
- Ensure all documentation (product specifications, test reports, drawings) and product samples are ready and available.
- Act as a point of contact for regulators during inspections of and lead the response to any non-conformities.
- Liaise with HQ and internal support teams to ensure that all products imported into Malaysia comply with national import regulations, electrical safety standards, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in seminars, factory visit and warehouse audits
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma, Bachelor's or any relevant certificate in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics, Automation), Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Prior experience with product certification, especially for electrical component products
- Strong technical understanding of electrical components, systems, and regulatory standards in Malaysia.
- Experience in dealing with Malaysian regulatory bodies (SIRIM, ST, JKR, BOMBA, MyHijau) strongly preferred.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple certification projects simultaneously.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills: able to coordinate with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
