Our client is a leading Financial Technology player in Malaysia and is building a new role for a Head of Data, which will include, Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Operations, Data Governance, and AI Initiatives. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight across all aspects of Data technology, governance and AI implementation as the organisation continues to scale.
The Position:
- You will oversee Data strategy & transformation. In particular the adoption of AI across products.
- Act as strategic advisor to the CEO and EXCO to leverage data for commercial gain from advanced analytics and AI.
- Own Data governance.
- Enterprise Data Architecture and Engineering Design and build a modern data lake across the entire business.
- Automate data pipelines where needed, work closely with IT and Product teams on development.
- Oversee data privacy, security,
- Drive AI adoption across the enterprise, identifying high-impact use cases to enhance products, customer solutions, and internal operations.
- Establish a best-in-class data operations framework
- Lead, grow, and inspire a multidisciplinary team spanning data engineers, governance specialists, AI/ML engineers, and data operations professionals.
You:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, AI/ML, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- > 10 years progression in leadership experience in data engineering, governance, or enterprise data leadership, with proven exposure to AI/ML projects.
- Demonstrable success in driving enterprise-scale data and AI transformation initiatives, ideally in financial services, fintech, or large-scale data organizations.
- Deep competence in modern data platforms and AI/ML technologies (cloud-native, big data, model development, MLOps).
- Experience with advanced analytics, NLP, computer vision, and AI-driven automation is preferred.
