Job Description

A leading publicly listed organization is seeking an accomplished finance leader to join its executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Head of Finance in Malaysia.

This is a high-impact role responsible for driving financial strategy, governance, performance management, and sustainable growth across a complex and diversified business. The CFO will serve as a key advisor to the Board and senior leadership team, providing strategic guidance while ensuring strong financial stewardship, risk management, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Serve as a Board member and fulfil all associated fiduciary, governance, and regulatory responsibilities.
Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to shape business strategy and drive long-term value creation.
Lead financial planning and analysis to support growth, investment decisions, and transformation initiatives.
Provide strategic guidance on organic growth opportunities, business expansion, and corporate development activities.

Financial Stewardship

Oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, treasury, tax, reporting, and financial controls.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, liquidity management, and working capital optimization.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Monitor overall business performance and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Maintain strong corporate governance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
Safeguard organizational assets while ensuring compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory obligations.
Drive accountability, transparency, and financial discipline across the organization.

Business Partnership

Act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on financial and commercial matters.
Support strategic projects, business transformation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Present business performance, financial outlooks, and strategic recommendations to the Board and key stakeholders.

Leadership & Transformation

Lead and develop a high-performing finance organization.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, capability building, and leadership development.
Champion digitalization, automation, and process optimization across the finance function.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a seasoned finance executive with:

Proven CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leadership experience within a sizeable and complex organization.
Strong track record in financial planning, governance, treasury, risk management, and business partnering.
Experience working with listed company requirements and Board-level stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to influence strategically while maintaining strong operational discipline.
Strong leadership capabilities with experience leading large, high-performing teams.
Professional finance qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred.
