Chief of Staff

3cat is on a mission to make secondhand tech the first choice.

We're one of Malaysia's fastest-growing circular-tech companies, building an omnichannel platform for pre-owned smartphones and electronics. Today we operate 22 stores, with plans to grow beyond 50 stores across the region, including our expansion into the Philippines.

We're backed by leading international and strategic investors including AEON (Japan), Iterative VC, Golden Gate Ventures, Foxmont Capital, TheVentures and XOX Mobile.

As we enter our next stage of growth, we're looking for a Chief of Staff to help us build the organisation and drive some of the most important people's priorities and strategic initiatives behind our growth.

The Role

This isn't a traditional Chief of Staff role.

Around 70% of your focus will be on building and driving our people, culture and leadership priorities. The remaining 30% will be focused on strategic business initiatives alongside the CEO and leadership team.

You'll work directly with our CEO, founders and leadership team across Malaysia and the Philippines. Your role will be to ensure we have the organisation, leadership and execution needed to support our growth, while taking ownership of selected cross-functional priorities that require dedicated attention.

You'll take ownership of:

• Building the organisation: Ensuring we have the right teams, capabilities and workforce plans to support our expansion.
• Strengthening performance and leadership: Building a high-performance culture, creating clarity and helping managers become stronger, more accountable leaders.
• Scaling how we work: Evolving our structures, roles, decision-making and succession plans as the business grows.
• Building strong foundations: Putting in place practical and scalable people systems, technology, analytics and governance across Malaysia and the Philippines.
• Attracting and growing great people: Strengthening how we attract, retain and develop ambitious talent who can grow with 3cat.
• Driving strategic initiatives: Partnering with the CEO on selected business priorities that cut across functions and require strong thinking, coordination and execution.
• Turning plans into progress: Translating priorities into clear actions, aligning stakeholders, removing blockers and ensuring important work gets done.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is deeply passionate about building great organisations, strong cultures and capable leaders, while also being naturally drawn to solving wider business problems.

Around 10 to 12 years of experience is a useful benchmark, but it isn't a hard requirement. We're much more interested in what you've built, the complexity you've handled, how you've influenced leaders and the impact you've created.

You may have built your career in People, organisational development, transformation, operations or a cross-functional leadership role. Experience in retail, multi-store operations or an international business would be especially valuable.

But above all, we're looking for someone who:

• Can connect people, organisation and leadership priorities to business growth.
• Thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
• Brings structure to ambiguity without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Is commercially minded and comfortable working directly with founders and senior leaders.
• Can lead complex, cross-functional projects and bring different teams together.
• Moves with urgency, takes ownership and follows through.
• Is willing to get hands-on when something important needs to move.
