We are seeking a passionate Circuit Design Engineer to join our R&D team in developing load boards, probe cards, interface boards, socket boards, and other supporting electronics for semiconductor device testing. The role requires strong knowledge of high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power circuit design, with a focus on achieving robust signal integrity, manufacturability, and test performance.
Here's where you will come in:
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design complex PCBs such as multi-site load boards, probe cards, DUT boards, adapter boards, and interface boards for characterization and production testing.
- Develop schematics and ensure PCB layouts meeting electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing constraints.
- Collaborate with outsourced PCB layout vendors to ensure compliance with design constraints and guidelines
- Create layout design guidelines for internal and outsourced PCB layout engineers
- Select appropriate components including drivers, power devices, relays, connectors, and high-speed signal components.
- Familiar with stack-up design, controlled impedance routing, length matching, and high-speed layout as required.
- Analyze high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal paths to ensure signal integrity.
- Perform SI/PI simulation and analysis (e.g., crosstalk, EMI/EMC, noise sensitivity).
- Optimize routings and grounding strategies to minimize distortion, improve return paths, and enhance board performance.
- Work closely with Applications Engineers to ensure load boards meet all customer test coverage requirements on Aemulus ATE platforms.
- Manage production documentation including:
- Schematic BOMs
- Functional test requirements
- Document assembly instructions when deviations or board mismatches occur
- Support root cause analysis for boards failures, performance issues, or bring-up challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of:
- High-speed digital design
- Analog and mixed-signal circuits
- Power supply and distribution design
- Proficiency with schematic and PCB design tools such as Mentor PADS, Altium, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
- Familiarity with SI/PI analysis tools such as HyperLynx, ADS, LTSpice, etc.
- Experience with semiconductor ATE platforms
- Knowledge of high current test structures, Kelvin measurements, thermal management, and pogo/probe interfaces.
- Experience in designing within mechanical limits of probe cards or load boards
- Basic scripting experience (Python, C#, etc.) for automation and hardware characterization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
- Effective communication and clear documentation practices.
- Ability to manage multiple parallel design tasks under tight schedules.
- Independent problem-solving mindset with hands-on debugging capability.
- Fresh graduates with strong circuit design knowledge are encouraged to apply
