Job Title: Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineer to join our dynamic EPCC team for large-scale power plant and energy infrastructure projects in Sabah. You will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of civil and structural works, ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely delivery of project milestones. Key Responsibilities:
Site & Project Execution
- Oversee and coordinate civil & structural works during construction, including foundations, equipment support structures, buildings, roads, drainage systems, and other related civil works.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant codes/standards.
- Identify and resolve site-based technical issues in collaboration with design engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Review and approve construction method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and work schedules related to C&S scope.
Technical & Engineering Support
- Provide engineering input and verification during the installation of civil and structural components.
- Review contractor drawings, material submissions, and technical documents to ensure conformity with project requirements.
- Perform basic structural checks and assessments as required, using engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro) and manual methods.
Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, process) to ensure integration of civil & structural works with other plant systems.
- Support the preparation of tender documents and participate in technical evaluations for C&S work packages.
- Prepare progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation for handover.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor contractors adherence to QHSE plans and project-specific procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in civil & structural engineering, preferably in power generation, oil & gas, heavy industrial, or energy projects.
- Familiarity with structural analysis/design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) and proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing review.
- Strong understanding of civil & structural engineering principles, construction methods, and applicable codes (Eurocodes, BS, Malaysian Standards).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel to and work at remote project sites when required.
