Job Description
We are seeking Client Consultants (Analyst / Consultant / Senior Consultant) to support the delivery of strategic and execution-focused engagements for clients in the banking and financial services sector. The role sits within the consulting arm of a global payments and financial services organisation, solving strategic problems through expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics.
The successful candidates will work across multiple client engagements simultaneously, partnering with client stakeholders and internal teams to understand business priorities, structure complex problems, develop actionable solutions, and drive projects from initial scoping through execution. Depending on experience level, candidates will contribute to or lead client engagements. Experience within the cards, payments, consumer banking, loyalty or digital payments ecosystem is highly advantageous.
⇒ Main Responsibilities
- Work with client stakeholders and internal teams to understand business challenges, strategic priorities and desired outcomes.
- Structure ambiguous business problems into clear workstreams, hypotheses, analyses and actionable recommendations.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, synthesise findings and identify opportunities to improve client performance, portfolio growth and customer engagement.
- Develop consulting frameworks, business cases, operating models, customer propositions, product strategies, implementation roadmaps and measurable recommendations.
- Create compelling presentations, storylines and executive-ready materials that communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Facilitate or support client interviews, workshops, working sessions and governance discussions to drive alignment and decision-making.
- Manage assigned workstreams and priorities across one or more engagements, maintaining quality, timelines and stakeholder alignment.
- Collaborate across functions such as sales, marketing, risk, product, data and innovation, drawing on local, regional and global capabilities.
- Apply knowledge of financial services trends, customer needs and commercial drivers to strengthen client recommendations.
- Contribute to proposal development, opportunity identification and broader client relationship development, with expectations increasing by seniority.
- Coach and support junior team members where relevant, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing consulting culture.
⇒ Qualifications & Experience
- 2 to 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within management consulting, financial services consulting, banking, payments or a related environment (multiple roles available at different experience levels).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous for more senior roles but not essential.
- Demonstrated consulting toolkit, including structured problem-solving, analytical thinking, synthesis, stakeholder management and clear communication. Depth and independence expected will increase by experience level.
- Experience contributing to or leading client-facing projects. Senior candidates should demonstrate engagement leadership, executive stakeholder management and team development experience.
- Understanding of financial services and banking. Experience in cards, payments, loyalty, customer propositions, portfolio management or digital financial services is advantageous.
- Ability to translate complex information into practical insights, recommendations and implementation actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including development and presentation of senior-management materials where appropriate to level.
- Effective project and priority management, with the ability to work across multiple workstreams in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools is an advantage.
Preferred Skillsets:
- Client orientation and the ability to build trusted working relationships.
- Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Clear, concise storytelling supported by data and commercial insight.
- Collaborative, diplomatic and flexible working style.
- Ownership mindset, attention to quality and a focus on measurable client outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues of different levels, disciplines and geographic locations.
- For senior roles, a track record of leading consulting engagements, developing talent, influencing executive stakeholders and contributing to commercial growth.
