Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic direction for the organization's cloud financial management (FinOps) function, aligning practices with business objectives to ensure cloud spending supports overall company goals
  • Establish and promote best practices for cloud cost optimization, budgeting, governance, and accountability; develop policies and guidelines to govern cloud spending organization-wide
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, drive optimization initiatives, and monitor cloud spending to ensure efficient resource utilization
  • Partner closely with finance, IT, and business teams to align cloud investments with organizational priorities and maximize value delivered
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, regularly evaluating and refining cloud financial management processes
  • Analyze performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness

Job Requirement

  • 8+ years of experience in financial management, cloud operations, or IT finance, with at least 3 years in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud financial leadership role
  • Deep understanding of cloud service models (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost structures, including reserved instances, savings plans, spot pricing, and usage-based billing
  • Proven track record of establishing FinOps frameworks, governance policies, and cost accountability models across large organizations
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cloud cost analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and building cost optimization strategies
  • Familiarity with FinOps tools and platforms (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) and cloud-native cost management services
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to align finance, engineering, and business stakeholders around shared cloud spending goals
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to translate technical cloud usage data into business-relevant insights for leadership
  • Experience driving organizational change and promoting a culture of cost accountability and continuous improvement
