Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and technical specifications.
Set up CNC turning machines with the appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices.
Load, edit, and verify CNC programs (G-code and M-code).
Adjust machining parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate, spindle speed, and tool offsets to achieve optimum machining performance.
Operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components that meet quality requirements.
Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic machining issues to minimize downtime.
Replace worn tooling and carry out routine machine maintenance as required.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment using 5S practices.
Requirements
Education
Technical Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience operating and setting up CNC Turning machines in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
Good knowledge of CNC Turning machine setup and operation.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
Familiar with CNC programming using G-code and M-code.
Knowledge of machine parameter adjustments, including tool offsets, cutting speed, and feed rate.
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and precision tolerances.
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
