Job Summary

COBOL Developerto support, maintain, and enhance legacy mainframe applications. Have strong experience in COBOL programming, mainframe environments, and batch/online processing.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs on mainframe systems.
• Analyze existing programs to identify enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform batch job scheduling, execution, and monitoring.
• Support integration with external systems and databases.
• Ensure system stability, performance, and security through effective coding and testing practices.
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare documentation and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience with COBOL (COBOL, COBOL II), JCL, VSAM, and DB2 or other mainframe databases.
• Knowledge of batch and online processing.
• Familiarity with change management tools and job schedulers (e.g. Control-M).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
