Job Description

Adecco's Banking & Financial Services team is hiring for a client, a well known Financial Services company in Malaysia for the position of Collection & Recovery, Senior Manager/ Unit Head.

Job Purpose

Lead and provide technical and supervisory expertise in processing and managing claims and recoveries from financial institutions. Ensure contingent liabilities are maintained at acceptable levels while complying with SOPs, SLAs, and relevant regulations. The role requires specialised knowledge to deliver organisational objectives and manage operations according to the company's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims & Recovery Management

  • Supervise and ensure timely processing of eligible claims in line with internal procedures.
  • Review and provide guidance on claims papers, restructuring/rescheduling requests, and other credit-related matters.
  • Oversee monitoring and follow-up of recovery actions to ensure accurate and timely remittance of proceeds.
  • Assist in planning and implementing strategies to minimize claims, accelerate processing, and maximize recoveries.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with audits, time charter requirements, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance mission-critical processes to maintain high operational standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver planned initiatives to the standard of the company.

Stakeholder & Staff Management

  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, clients, and customers.
  • Support the development and coaching of assigned staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Conduct performance management reviews, goal setting, and competency assessments to optimise team performance.
  • Monitor talent retention and succession planning within the unit.

Training & Competency Development

  • Take ownership of role-related competency development and ensure training requirements are met.
  • Reduce competency gaps identified through performance reviews or assessments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, Legal, Recovery, or Monitoring functions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial institution (FI) lending is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate teams.
