What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics) does at HP:
- You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams
- Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
- Solve manufacturing, process, automation, and product-related problems
- Design and modify fixtures, jigs, and tooling
- Support experiments, characterization studies, and NPI builds
- Assist with data analysis, SPC, gage R&R, and engineering investigations
- Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production
- Product Design
- Tools & Fixture Design
- Manufacturing Process Development
- Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experimental Design and Testing
- Rapid Prototyping
- Current Bachelor or Master undergraduates in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027
- 3D CAD
- FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
- CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Modelling
- Mechanism Design
- Machine Vision Systems
- Robotics

- Strong engineering fundamentals
