The position reports to the CFO, Consumer Home Fibre Business
Job Overview:
As a Commercial & Pricing Analyst within our Retail Consumer Business, you will play a key role in driving commercial growth, profitability, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
You will partner closely with the CFO and business stakeholders to translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights, support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
Beyond traditional financial analysis, we are looking for someone who is commercially driven, proactive and solutions-orientedsomeone who does not wait to be told what needs to be improved. You are expected to identify gaps, challenge existing processes, initiate improvements and take ownership of projects that create measurable business value.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in initiating or leading finance-related projects, system enhancements, automation or process improvements, and will be comfortable working across Finance, IT, Operations, Sales and other business functions to drive initiatives from idea through implementation. Your role also involve analysing and maintaining the detail unitary cost of the products and services offered by TIME Home Fibre Business.
This role requires someone with a positive attitude, strong ownership mindset and a drive to achieve beyond expectations, while providing strong support to the CFO and Retail Consumer leadership team.
Your work life:
- Provide cost-benefit assessment to support management in investment and commercial pricing decision making
- Maintain unitary costing for all products and services related to home fibre business
- Support Client Managers and SBUs in establishing pricing proposal for all business opportunities
- Support Product Managers in building business cases and financial viability analysis
- Provide market trending analyses and Insights to ensure price released is within the market driven pricing
- Partner with IT and Ops departments to track budget utilisation and perform strategic analyses on budget efficiencies with view to improve the spending ROI.
- Lead evaluation of the financial feasibility of IT Capex budgets (e.g., change CRs, license purchases, system upgrades etc). Calculate Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for multi-million RM investments.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in network charges, customer acquisition costs (CAC) and fixed /variable cost of sales and opex.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to simulate the impact of market price wars, digital transformation initiatives, or other strategic initiatives.
- Proactively highlight financial or commercial risks, trends and opportunities to the CFO and relevant stakeholders rather than waiting for issues to be raised.
- Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies and pain points within existing finance processes, reporting and systems, and initiate improvement initiatives without waiting for direction.
- Initiate and/or lead Finance projects involving process enhancement, automation, system implementation, reporting improvements, data analytics or workflow optimisation.
To be considered, you'll need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or ICAEW) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 5–7 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within a Retail B2C Industries such as FMCG, Telco, Services or any other subscriber intensive industry (Utilities, Transport or Retail).
- Local Expertise: Commercial and pricing benchmarking and pricing
- Technical Skills:Advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Query, VBA is a plus).
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or SQL for analyzing large subscriber datasets.
- Soft Skills: Strong business acumen to understand Telco-speak (e.g., EBITDA, Spectrum, Backhaul). Ability to present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders (Engineering/Sales).
- Market Knowledge: Understanding of the Malaysian fixed broadband and mobile landscape.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, pricing, cost analysis and investment evaluation.
- Experience in finance systems, process automation or digitalisation initiatives will be an added advantage.
