Our client is an Australian business operating for over 12 years in the mining, resources, oil & gas, defense and hospitality sectors.The company provides remote catering, camp management and mobile camp services - effectively remote hotels for the resources sector - with a lean head office on the Gold Coast and a dispersed field workforce (chefs, camp managers, cleaners).

Role Purpose:

The Commercial & Contracts Specialist (with Supply Chain Support) Will Sit Between The CEO, General Manager, CFO And Projects Team, Acting As a Dedicated Owner For

  • Contracts preparation and administration
  • Commercial analysis and reporting
  • Supply-chain pricing, tender support and market research

The role is commercial and contracts-led, with a strong analytical supply-chain support component. The Specialist will prepare the documents, analysis and recommendations that enable the company's leadership team to make better commercial and supply-chain decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contracts & Commercial Administration
  • Draft, review and prepare:
    • Contracts and contract variations
    • Proposals, SOWs, service agreements and related documentation
  • Maintain and update:
    • Contract registers and renewal dates
    • Commercial documentation and records across systems (e.g. Asana, HubSpot)
  • Ensure all contract documents are:
    • Correctly version-controlled
    • Approved by the appropriate stakeholders
    • Filed and accessible for future reference
  • Support the CEO, GM, CFO and Projects team with:
    • Contract formatting, preparation and collation
    • Coordination of signatures and approvals
    • Tracking of key commercial obligations and milestones
    • Commercial Analysis & Reporting
    • Conduct margin, pricing and cost analysis to support leadership decision-making
    • Perform commercial evaluations for new bids, tenders and supplier proposals
    • Prepare cost comparison models and recommendations
    • Support risk identification (commercial and supplier-related) and flag key issues to management
    • Develop and maintain commercial reports and dashboards (e.g. spend analysis, savings tracking, supplier performance indicators)
    • Provide clear, concise written and verbal recommendations to the Australian leadership team
    • Supply Chain Support & Market Research
    • Support supply-chain and procurement activities including:
      • Pricing reviews across key categories/suppliers
      • Tender / RFQ set-up and support
      • Supplier benchmarking and commercial comparisons
    • Conduct market and supplier research:
      • New supplier options, alternative products or services
      • Market rates and commercial benchmarks relevant
    • Assist with monitoring:
      • Contract renewals and re-tender opportunities
      • Cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
    • Provide analytical support for:
      • Supply-chain strategy discussions
      • What-if scenarios (e.g. price increases, lead time changes, supplier changes)
This role focuses on the commercial, analytical and administrative side of supply chain.

  • Stakeholder Support & Communication
  • Work closely with the CEO, GM, CFO and Projects team as their primary offshore commercial/contract support
  • Present analysis and recommendations in clear, professional English (written and verbal)
  • Liaise with suppliers and/or clients where appropriate, depending on experience and maturity
  • Build strong working relationships with both Australian and offshore stakeholders

Required Experience & Skills

  • Commercial & Contracts
  • 3-7+ years experience in commercial, contracts administration, procurement or supply chain roles
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Drafting and managing contracts, variations and renewals
    • Commercial analysis (pricing, margins, cost optimisation)
    • Supporting tenders and RFQs
  • Strong understanding of contract fundamentals (terms, risks, obligations, renewals)
  • Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Experience in supply-chain or procurement support in at least one of:
    • Mining/resources
    • Construction/industrial services
    • Oil & gas
    • Remote services / facilities / hospitality for large operations
  • Exposure to:
    • Pricing and cost comparison
    • Supplier research and evaluation
    • Tender/RFQ processes
  • Bonus:
    • Exposure to remote sites or camp-style operations
  • Systems & Analytics
  • Strong skills in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic modelling and comparison)
  • Experience with at least one of:
    • ERP or finance/operations platforms (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Pronto, Cin7, Xero, similar)
    • Project or workflow tools such as Asana
    • CRM / commercial tools such as HubSpot
  • Ability to produce clear, structured reports and presentations based on data
