The Opportunity
We are looking for a Community Manager to own our presence in the anime community and keep the platform engaging and active. This is not a traditional community role. We are looking for someone who lives inside anime fandom. Someone who already knows the Discords, the group chats, and how fans actually talk to each other. You will not just be moderating channels. You will be defining how we show up in the community, who represents us on the ground, and what quality looks like across the platform. We work at high speed and expect you to run a freelancer team, build real relationships with anime fans, external parties, and keep the platform engaging as we scale.
What You Will Do
- Grow the community: Execute HQ's strategy to expand AnimeOshi's presence in the anime community, on and off the platform. Show up where fans already are, run activations, build partnerships with creators and adjacent communities, and be the voice of AO.
- Manage the freelancer scouts: Recruit, onboard, and oversee the freelancer scout team. Hold the bar on quality, handle performance issues, and keep the team motivated.
- Safeguard platform quality: Watch reviews across the platform for AI-generated content. Spot it, flag it, and ban it, whether it's from a freelancer scout or a regular user.
- Close the loop with HQ: Report on what's working, surface feedback from the community and freelancer scouts, and shape the dashboard and portal so the tools keep getting better.

- You can run a team. You hold people to a standard and keep things moving without being managed yourself.
