Polytool Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly motivated and aspiring Engineering Intern / CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team, focusing on machining operations, CNC production, and process improvement activities. Key Responsibilities & Job Scope
- Operate and assist in CNC machining processes (milling, turning, or related machining processes).
- Support setup activities including loading/unloading materials, tooling changes, and machine preparation.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure jobs are completed according to production schedule.
- Assist in machine job tracking, job scanning, and production reporting.
- Ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished components.
- Work within a team-oriented production environment to achieve daily output targets.
- Assist in reducing downtime by supporting troubleshooting activities on machines.
- Contribute to improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Support continuous improvement of cycle time and production flow.
- Perform in-process quality inspection based on standard specifications.
- Support parameter checking and verification based on machining standards.
- Assist in data collection for rejection analysis and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in basic statistical analysis (e.g. Minitab, GR&R studies where applicable).
- Help develop visual aids, quality check sheets, and standard work instructions.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist in updating production layouts, workflow charts, and process documentation.
- Contribute to internal audits and production process verification activities.
- Help improve production visualization tools (charts, dashboards, WI updates).
- Update daily production reports and machining progress tracking.
- Assist in maintaining machine records, cycle time data, and process documentation.
- Support engineering team in preparing reports for production improvement.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree/Diploma in: Mechanical Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering
- CNC / Machining / related technical field
- Strong interest in CNC machining and production operations
- Willing to work on the production floor (hands-on environment)
- Good teamwork, communication, and learning attitude
- Proactive, disciplined, and eager to improve manufacturing processes
