Job Description

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.Lead and coordinate 24×7 L1 SMC Monitoring operations, supervising shift activities and ensuring continuous monitoring of servers, networks, storage, databases, backups, and applications.
  • Manage staffing and shift rosters, including scheduling duties, arranging backfills for leave/emergencies, and ensuring adequate monitoring coverage at all times.
  • Provide technical guidance for L1 troubleshooting, supporting first‑level diagnostics, validating escalations, and ensuring smooth event monitoring operations.
  • Oversee incident and escalation workflows, ensuring proper shift handovers, acting as Incident Coordinator during major incidents, and guiding the L1 team on daily incident handling.
  • Execute service and change requests, coordinating with System and Application teams, validating SOPs, and ensuring L1 staff have required training and access before SOP sign‑off.
  • Perform complex daily operational tasks, including batch job monitoring, automation scripts, backup job oversight, and infra/application tasks as defined in SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies, maintaining adherence to standards and operational governance within L1 monitoring responsibilities.
  • Prepare operational reporting and documentation, delivering daily/weekly/monthly/ad‑hoc reports and participating in SMC Lead-assigned activities to maintain operational excellence.

A Successful Console Support Shift Lead Should Have

  • A strong background in technology or a related field, ideally within the technology and telecoms sector.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • A commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and delivering quality service.
