Job Description

Job Summary:

Estimate, manage and value project cost. Create cost plans, manage tendering, contract administration, value engineering and cost-benefit analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost estimates for renovation and construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment with sketch drawings, preliminary drawings and tender drawings.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities for store renovation and fit-out works.

Tendering:

  • Examining and reviewing construction plans and preparing tender document.
  • Evaluate and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to determine the most cost-effective options.
  • Assist in the negotiation and selection of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project requirements and budgetary limitations.

Contract Administration:

  • Liaising and working collaboratively with design, fit-out, contractors and stakeholders on design.
  • Review contract documents, variations, and claims. Provide recommendations to HOD on the variations and claims submitted by contractors and suppliers.
  • Gathering and preparing reports, analyses, budgets, and other necessary document and forwarding them to the management

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, records, and databases related to cost estimates, contracts, and project progress. Documenting relevant changes in design and updating budget when required.
  • Prepare final account for the projects.
  • Source new materials as per company requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree Holder in Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • At least 5 years as quantity surveyor, specifically in store renovation and interior fit-out works
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform detailed cost calculations and analysis.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Adequate experience of construction estimating and/ or finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction and its principle and guidelines.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa.
  • Willing to travel to site if required.
