Job Description

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement complete control systems and software control programs.
  • General on-site consultation with customers to ensure system meets their specific requirements.
  • Perform installation, upgrades and servicing of control systems.
  • Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize pneumatic/electrical/ DDC technology.
  • Provide solutions to mid-level systems problems either troubleshooting the system or assists others on how to resolve problems. Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • Complete all required commissioning documentation. Maintains accurate As-Built drawing package and marks changes.
  • Responsible for total system operation from controllers to sensors, loading software. Set up trends, alarms and reports and works with customer IT personnel, etc. Calibrate systems requiring basic electronictest equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer.
  • Perform mid-level static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming.
  • Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
  • Responsible for set up and configuration of server and/or operator workstations with all associated software.
  • Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised.

  • Adhere to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Implementation and testing of basic to moderate integrations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Well organized with good time management and communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Experience with Microsoft software products to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required
  • Possesses a general understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences
  • Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain a service laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARCnet communications
  • Maintain the customer with innovative and superior building automation systems and provide outstanding customer service

Education Qualification:

  • College Diploma in an engineering or computing.
  • Minimum 1 year of HVAC controls experience
  • Field experience and a complete understanding of the installation and operation of Building Automation Systems
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting
