Corporate Global IT Project Manager

My client is a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services company with factories located in Malaysia, and Europe. They are now seeking to hire a Corporate Global IT Project Manager, based at their Penang factory.

Role Overview

The Corporate IT Project Manager is a senior position, leading end‑to‑end IT systems implementation, upgrades, and enhancement projects, focusing on, but not limited to the ERP system. This role ensures that ERP solutions and other business systems are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business requirements. Responsibilities span across multiple sites in different countries, and includes project governance, stakeholder alignment, technical coordination, and ensuring adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

IT Project Management

• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of IT projects focusing on, but not limited to ERP. This includes vendor management where third-party solution providers are involved. Define and execute to project scope, objectives, timelines, resource plans and budget. Communicating with management and stakeholders on schedules, delays and work changes for IT projects.

·      Manage relevant third-party vendors and ensure compliance with IT strategy and security policies.

• Coordinate with Key Functional Teams (such as Supply Chain, Finance, Production, Quality, Engineering, etc) and lead the technical discussion from a corporate perspective. Work closely with process owners to ensure system design matches corporate operational workflows.

·      Ensure ERP integrations with MES/PLM/Planning/Business Intelligence and other systems run smoothly.

·      Drive change management and continuous improvement. Manage change across the organization to ensure effective adoption of the new system.

ERP Customizations & Enhancements

• Responsible for definition, development, deployment and support of ERP customizations and enhancements projects.
• Lead the internal development team in implementing code extensions, custom objects, forms, and workflows to meet business requirements.

ERP System Administration

·      Work with IT Administrators to ensure smooth application of customizations, patches, updates, and new releases after thorough testing, including hands-on administration where required.

 Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business Process, or related fields.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in ERP implementations and/or major enhancements with more than 10 years of relevant experience in the electronic manufacturing industry. Experience with InforLN, Baan ERP and/or cloud-based systems would be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of major ERP modules in Finance, Production, Planning, Warehousing, Inventory, etc.
• Hands-on experience in ERP system administration, maintenance and/or customization. Experience with Infor ION and/or 3GL/4GL would be an added advantage.
• Experience leading and driving corporate digitalization initiatives, especially from a global perspective.
