The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analysing, reporting, and managing financial data to support accurate cost management in a manufacturing environment. This role is based in Johor and requires expertise in accounting and finance practices.

Description
- Assist in developing policies and procedures for determining standard inventory costs (Material, Labour, Manufacturing Burden).
- Ensure consistent application of costing policies across all company divisions.
- Periodically update standard costs for inventory according to company policies.
- Ensure new inventory items (NPIs) are accurately costed for timely Cost of Sales reporting.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Sales (Quoting team) to verify BOMs and MoMs reflect accurate inventory costs.
- Analyse Contribution Margin and Gross Profit Margin by Verticals and Product Groups.
- Present analysis findings to senior leadership for profitability improvement decisions.
- Support the budgeting process for Strategic Business Units.
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting and projects involving financial and non-financial data.
- Identify trends and opportunities through data gathering, manipulation, and analysis.
Profile
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Min 5+ years in accounting or finance
- Deep understanding of costing and valuation of inventory in a Manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in the industrial/manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
