Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cost Accountant role based in Kulim Hi-Tech, Kedah, Malaysia. The Cost Accountant will monitor, analyze, and report manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to support accurate product costing and margin analysis. Daily responsibilities include preparing cost variance analyses, reconciling inventory and work-in-progress accounts, and collaborating with production and supply chain teams to ensure data accuracy. The role involves assisting in budgeting and forecasting, maintaining standard costs, and reviewing cost allocation methodologies for continuous improvement. The Cost Accountant will also support internal controls, participate in audits, and prepare management reports that help guide operational and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong cost accounting, financial analysis, and variance analysis skills, ideally within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP tools, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost allocation methods, including work-in-progress and overhead tracking.
- Ability to interpret data, prepare clear reports, and communicate findings effectively to both finance and operations teams.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and familiarity with AI or electronics manufacturing is beneficial.
