Description
- Develop policies and procedures with the Corporate Controller for determining standard inventory costs (Material, Labour, Manufacturing Burden).
- Ensure consistent application of costing policies across all company divisions.
- Periodically update standard inventory costs based on company policies.
- Ensure new inventory items (NPIs) are accurately costed for timely Cost of Sales reporting aligned with month-end close.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Sales (Quoting team) to ensure BOMs and MoMs reflect accurate inventory costs.
- Analyse Contribution Margin and Gross Profit Margin by Verticals and Product Groups.
- Present financial analysis to senior leadership to support profitability improvement decisions.
- Assist in the budgeting process for Strategic Business Units.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and projects involving data gathering, manipulation, and summarising.
- Identify financial and non-financial trends and opportunities through detailed analysis.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance
- Strong knowledge of cost management principles and practices.
- Min 10+ years experience in accounting or finance.
- Deep understanding of costing and valuation of inventory in a Manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
