About The Team
The Cross-Border Cluster Manager (Team Lead) is the business owner of Shopee Malaysia's Cross-Border clusters, including Electronics, FMCG, Fashion, and Lifestyle. This role holds end-to-end accountability for cluster & category performance, P&L, growth strategy, and seller experience, while leading a team to scale Malaysia's cross-border seller ecosystem through data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and strong execution.
Job Description
Business Ownership & Performance Management
- Own the overall performance of Malaysia Cross-Border clusters & categories, with end-to-end responsibility for P&L, growth, and seller experience.
- Drive key KPIs including Average Daily Orders (ADO) and Average Daily GMV, and develop deep insights into the key drivers behind performance results.
- Identify category- and cluster-level issues, develop hypotheses, conduct data analysis, and present actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Strategy, Growth & Market Competitiveness
- Define, develop, and execute cross-border growth strategies at cluster and category levels to achieve sustainable business growth.
- Continuously analyze internal performance, external market trends, competition, and user behavior to ensure cross-border sellers remain highly competitive within local markets.
- Conduct cluster, category, and seller-level deep-dive analyses to identify growth opportunities and design innovative, scalable solutions.
Seller Programs & Cross-Border Initiatives
- Develop and execute seller programs, initiatives, and promotion strategies to accelerate cross-border business growth and improve seller engagement.
- Drive and coordinate cross-border seller-related initiatives across onboarding, activation, retention, and monetization.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. Business Development, Marketing, Operations) to understand local processes and ensure sufficient exposure and visibility for cross-border sellers and products.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across regions and functions (Projects, Marketing, Operations, Business Development, SMT etc.) to align growth strategies and execution plans.
- Build, retain, and optimize internal and external relationships to drive overall cluster performance in a fast-paced environment.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Hire, train, coach, and manage a team of Category PICs responsible for managing and growing Malaysia cross-border merchants.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and develop team capabilities in analytics, commercial strategy, and stakeholder management.
- Foster a high-performance, ownership-driven, and collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or above in any field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or e-commerce (cross-border / marketplace experience is a strong plus).
- Strong learning agility with the ability to perform in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; highly data-driven and detail-oriented.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Proven team management and leadership experience.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across functions and regions.
- Positive, proactive, and team-player mindset with strong ownership.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations.
