A world market leader in the chemical manufacturing industry with an internationally renowned Shared Service Centre (SSC) based in Kuala Lumpur. Due to rapid expansion, they are looking for a Customs Duty Tax Manager to be part of the team that is responsible for running all related functions across the APAC region and globally.
Your new role
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to ensure customs and tax compliance and efficiency.
- Analyse duty and tax data to forecast trends and optimise costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams on duty and tax optimisation strategies.
- Monitor exemptions, deferments, drawbacks, refunds, and financial impact.
- Resolve tariff classification issues to reduce duty and tax exposure.
- Prepare management reports and dashboards with insights and recommendations.
- Establish and track KPIs for regional customs operations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Over 5 years experience in international import/export and customs operations.
- Strong knowledge of customs legislation, procedures, classification, valuation, compliance, and exemptions.
- Proven analytical, organisational, and communication skills for stakeholder and regulatory coordination.
- Willingness to travel.
