Dance Teacher (GCSE & BTEC)
Location: Mantin, Negeri Sembilan
Salary: RM5,000 – RM9,999 (based on qualification and experience)
An established international school in Mantin is looking for an inspiring and skilled Dance Teacher to join its growing team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is passionate about dance education, performance, choreography, and student development.
The role involves delivering high-quality lessons across GCSE and BTEC Dance, while also helping to build a vibrant co-curricular dance programme through clubs and paid classes. The school is particularly interested in candidates with strengths in theatre dance, modern jazz, and/or ballet.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare engaging dance lessons
- Teach students according to their learning needs and set high expectations
- Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment
- Prepare and mark coursework, tests, and examinations
- Provide clear feedback to help students improve
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide student reports
- Support student wellbeing and uphold positive behaviour
- Lead 2 extra-curricular activities per week
- Contribute to department development and wider school activities
- Act as a mentor / tutor for students where required
- Support performances, events, trips, and school marketing initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- PGCE and/or recognised dance teaching qualification
- Experience teaching GCSE and BTEC Dance
- Strong background in performance and choreography
- Specialism in theatre dance, modern jazz, and/or ballet is an advantage
- Passion for nurturing student confidence, creativity, and technical growth
