AMOREPACIFIC MALAYSIA is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join the Strategy Team. This role is responsible for conducting sales, profit & loss (P&L), and strategic data analysis, providing data-driven insights to support business decision-making across multiple brands and channels.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in sales performance tracking, financial forecasting, and e-commerce trends analysis within the beauty and retail industry.
You will play an important role, such as:
1. Sales Analysis
- Monitor sales performance at brand, channel, store, and product levels (daily, weekly, and monthly) to track trends and identify opportunities.
- Analyze sell-through rates by brand and channel, providing insights into inventory turnover and customer demand.
- Conduct overall sales performance reviews to assess market performance and business health.
- Identify sales channel trends in retail (RS/DS) through analysis of sales, membership growth, ATV (Average Transaction Value), and promotional event performance.
- Track multi-brand store's sales by channel, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Evaluate e-commerce performance trends by platform, assessing industry trends and consumer behaviour shifts.
2. Profit & Loss (P&L) Analysis
- Provide overall P&L reviews segmented by brand and channel to identify key revenue and cost drivers.
- Review rolling forecasts based on current sales trends and simulations to project future financial outcomes.
- Conduct P&L gap analysis to highlight discrepancies between projections and actual results, offering strategic recommendations.
- Perform cost analysis to support team manager to optimize spending and improve profitability.
3. Strategic & Ad-Hoc Support
- Offer data analysis support for various departments, assisting in strategic planning and business insights.
- Assist in ad-hoc strategy tasks, inventory reviews, and other urgent data-driven requirements.
To be successful in this role, you would need to have:
- Bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, International Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in a data analysis, key account management, or similar role within FMCG, retail, or a related industry.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM/data analysis tools.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated & proactive; able to work independently and as a team player.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Possess a strong sense of urgency, able to prioritize and meet deadlines, and able to work beyond contractual work hours when required.
- Able to work independently and be a dedicated team player in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to converse in Korean would be an added advantage.
