RESPONSIBILITIES
You will support the delivery of data and analytics initiatives across the organisation, including reporting, dashboards, data modeling, and emerging AI/ML use cases. This role involves gathering business requirements, assisting in solution design, and supporting the development of insights that drive data-informed decisions.
You will work closely with senior analysts, BI developers, data engineers, and data scientists to support the organisation's journey toward becoming a fully insight-driven and analytics-enabled enterprise. You will also play a key role in fostering data culture, supporting data literacy, and enabling the organisation's transformation into an insight-driven enterprise.
JOB SCOPE
- Assist in gathering, documenting, and refining business requirements for reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Support BI teams in developing user stories, KPI definitions, and dashboard layout specifications.
- Work with business users to understand operational processes and translate them into basic reporting or data needs.
- Assist in validating the accuracy and completeness of dashboards, reports, and analytics outputs.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights to support decision-making.
- Support data scientists by helping with requirement documentation, business understanding, and validation of AI/ML outputs.
- Participate in UAT and ensure delivered analytics solutions meet business expectations.
- Maintain documentation such as requirement logs, process notes, data dictionaries, and report inventories.
- Support trainings, demo sessions, and user onboarding activities for BI dashboards and analytics tools.
- Coordinate with data engineers to communicate business needs related to data sources or data quality issues.
- Assist in monitoring adoption and usage of BI dashboards and reports and gather feedback for improvement.
- Ensure all analytics activities comply with data governance, privacy, and organisational standards.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Solid understanding of the analytics lifecycle: reporting, dashboards, data modeling, and introduction to AI/ML concepts.
- Able to translate business needs into structured requirements with guidance.
- Skilled with BI tools (e.g. Power BI or MicroStrategy) and able to interpret visualisations.
- Demonstrates foundational data literacy and analytical thinking skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills, able to interact with stakeholders clearly.
- Willingness to learn new BI, analytics, and AI technologies and adopt industry best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate outputs.
- Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and eagerness to contribute to an insight-driven culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Malaysian citizen.
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or equivalent from accredited institutions.
- 24 years of experience in business analysis, BI, data analytics, or related areas.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise dashboards, complex reporting requirements, and analytics solutions.
- Exposure to AI/ML projects, including business problem framing and interpreting model outputs.
- Good understanding of SQL; familiarity with Python or analytics tools is an added advantage.
- Experience working in large enterprise, public sector, or regulated environments is preferred.
