Data Analyst

SUMMARY STATEMENT

We offer an exciting role within our Insights team for an individual seeking to combine their strong data management, analytical and visualisation capabilities within a genuinely global environment and to advance their career with technical development and leadership opportunities.

This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of outputs for multiple Global Insights programmes; with the aim of ultimately being able to manage and run a complete programme. The position will work closely with a team of programmers to support consultants in the analysis and delivery of insights to our clients. It is expected that the incumbent will contribute project experience, research and analysis skills to the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Success in this role will see the following achieved:

Own and manage the analysis and reporting of assigned insights programmes

• Analyse survey data using descriptive and inferential statistics (SAS)
• Summarise analyses through professional looking charts shown in static reports (PowerPoint) and interactive dashboards (PowerBI)
• Deliver insights to clients (internal and external) showing trends and action areas
• Manage survey data from different sources face-to-face interviews, online and phone studies. This includes data import, storage, review and cleansing

Interact proactively and positively with programme managers and colleagues from other areas of NMG to gain better understanding of the various programmes and deliver accurate outputs

• Create and maintain continuous improvement actions
• Review and enhance codes and data structure for more efficient work flow

Applying a creative and curious mindset, applying new and evolving approaches to improve the effectiveness and efficiencies of our insights studies

YOUR EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate should possess:

• SAS expertise is essential - you must have at least 2 years hands-on experience with SAS (Base or EG) to excel in this role
• SQL and macros experience is highly desirable and will complement your SAS work
• hands-on experience with MS Power BI and related MS technologies
• experience in leading or contributing to the gathering and documentation of business logics/methodologies
• strong visualisation skills, including dashboard and/or graph design
• a strong academic track record

The following are also valued:

• Knowledge of other programming languages, such as Python and R
• UI/UX experience
• Experience in analysing and reporting survey data

The Programming Team leads the exploration of data and derivation of insights from a variety of global programmes within the Insights practice from utilising state-of-the-art Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) strategies to implementing interactive dashboards using a multitude of data visualisation tools.
