JOB DESCRIPTION

1.

Operations & Availability Oversee daily data centre operations to ensure maximum uptime and resilience. Manage incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reporting. Implement and maintain Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. Monitor capacity (power, cooling, rack space) and plan for scalability.

2.

Infrastructure Management Supervise critical systems: UPS, generators, HVAC, fire suppression, structured cabling Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are executed Manage hardware lifecycle (servers, storage, networking equipment) Coordinate installations, migrations, and decommissioning

3.

Team Leadership Lead and mentor operations engineers and technicians Define shift schedules for 24/7 coverage where applicable Drive training on SOPs, emergency procedures, and safety protocols

4.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management Manage contracts and SLAs with vendors (facilities, OEMs, service providers) Coordinate with internal IT, security, and network teams Oversee third-party access and ensure compliance with site policies

5.

Compliance & Security Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, Uptime Institute Tier standards Maintain physical security controls (access systems, CCTV, audits) Conduct risk assessments and enforce operational controls

6.

Financial & Capacity Planning Manage operational budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) Forecast resource utilization and expansion needs Optimize energy usage (PUE improvements, sustainability initiatives)

JOB REQUIREMENT

1.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field

2.

5–10+ years in data centre operations or infrastructure management.

3.

Proven experience managing mission-critical environments.

4.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

5.

Familiarity with Tier III/IV standards and high-availability architecture.

6.

Strong understanding of Power systems (UPS, generators), Cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling),Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, structured cabling), monitoring tools (DCIM, BMS, NMS platforms) and incident management and change management processes

7.

Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

8.

Crisis management and decision-making under pressure.

9.

Work in a controlled data centre environment (noise, temperature variations).

10.

May require on-call availability and response to critical incidents.
